Anna's Hummingbird Nest - Spring 2018

The last picture of both babies on the nest - April 9th.

On February 17th we noticed an Allen's Hummingbird just starting to build a nest in the potted Ficus Tree on our patio. Day by day she worked for seven days to building a beautiful tiny nest.

The morning of March 2nd there was one egg in the nest. The morning of March 4th there was a second egg.

The first baby hatched on March 19th and the second on the 20th. For the next 21 days we watched the babies grow and learn to fly as mom fed them.

The first baby left the nest on April 10th at 7:00AM and the second left later that day at 6:00PM
