This HD camera streams LIVE 24/7 with sound—so be sure to turn up your volume. Thanks to infrared technology, you can even observe the nest overnight. The lighting system is approved by The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, ensuring it is safe and non-intrusive.

This season features Jewel, our beautiful year-round resident female Allen’s Hummingbird, and her first clutch of the 2026 season.

Jewel carefully incubated her eggs for 16 days, enduring several heavy rainstorms that significantly damaged the nest. Despite the weather, she worked tirelessly to reinforce and rebuild it. Unfortunately, one of the eggs did not hatch.

After Jade hatched, Jewel faithfully fed and cared for her for nine days. Then, one morning, we believe a predator attempted to reach the nest and Jewel was taken. We waited several hours hoping Jewel would return but she never did. I removed the nest and transported Jade to a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center, where she was successfully cared for and later released back into the wild.
