Allen's Hummingbird Nest - Spring 2024 2nd Clutch

Olive Skye and Sunny

An Allen's Hummingbird nest from Oceanside California Spring 2024

This HD camera streams live 24/7 with sound, so make sure you turn up your volume. You can also watch the nest at night thanks to the wonders of infrared technology, approved by The Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

This season brings you Olive, our beautiful year-round resident female Allen’s hummingbird, and her second clutch of 2024. Her nest was originally built in 2012. Olive feeds from her own feeder near the nest and also frequents the two other feeders on camera. An extremely experienced mother, Olive caringly raises her chicks and teaches them all the survival skills they need to become successful adults.

Thank you so much for your support! As you know, everything we do here is on a volunteer basis. The revenue we receive from YouTube and your generous donations helps cover some of our expenses, including hardware, software, internet, the website, and more. These expenses really add up, which is why we had to establish a non-profit organization. Each year, we invest much more into this project than earn, and our tax advisor warned that this isn’t sustainable and could trigger an IRS audit.

This truly is a labor of love for all of us, and we put in thousands of hours each year to make it happen. We are deeply grateful for your continued support!
